Dom in Dorset
I need a new speaker for my Laney RB7, I've extracted the dud one and it's a 10" Celestion , on the back end it says BL10-70. The Celestion website doesn't have such a thing. It's a 16 ohm speaker , also on it is : T549A ,10 LR and 50. The amp is 300W Any ideas? Phil Starr
you are best off replacing it with an identical speaker especialy as it works as one of a pair. It is almost certainly made specially for Laney, so contact them. Failing that it might be worth contacting Celestion, They have an email service branded as Dr Decibel and are pretty helpful. Laney first though.
chevy-stu
you could contact Headstock who are the Laney distributors and see if they'll sell you a genuine replacement. As above contact Celestion direct, or upgrade the pair to something higher spec so they don't fail in the future..
Dom in Dorset
I've emailed Laney but "due to the very high volume of queries we cannot always guarantee a response" I'll email Celestion too, see who (if anyone) gets back to me first. Phil Starr
If I get time today I'll see if my mate Andy at Axe Music can get hold of one.
Dom in Dorset
Both companies have replied!!!!! Laney want the serial number and Celestion say that it's discontinued but have recommended an alternative. It looks like I will get a solution. edit - both of Celestion's recommendations are only 8ohms, I'll see what Laney come up with. Dom in Dorset
Laney have come up with the goods. They don't use that exact speaker but they are sending me the one they use in that type of amp now. Cost including VAT and postage £27.12.
