danny-79 Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Just having an ask about Phasers What do you use ? Quote
Musicman20 Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Just picked up an EHX Small Stone Nano. Very creamy, swirly, and warm. Lovely! Quote
dannybuoy Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 I found the Small Stone a bit too dark and switched to the standard Phase 90. Both are great options though, no low end loss with either! Quote
nick Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 I use a clone of the 70's Maestro Stage Phaser. It has 5 or 6 stage options and goes quite deep, with no low end loss. That's my current favourite, though I think the EHX Nano Small Stone is great on bass too. I've got a Mutron II clone in build at the moment, so that may take Maestro clone's place on my board, after I hear it ... Quote
0175westwood29 Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 ive got a mxr phase 99 which is insane! two phase 90's in one box! but also have used the Eqd grand orbiter which is also very cool! andy Quote
JapanAxe Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 I recommend the MXR Phase 100, doesn't take out the bottom end too much. Quote
mcnach Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015
Just picked up an EHX Small Stone Nano. Very creamy, swirly, and warm. Lovely!
My favourite too Quote
Musicman20 Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015
My favourite too
The best bit, it's about £49! Quote
Skybone Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 It all depends on what you want to use it for and how wide a sweep you want from it. If you want a "small" focussed sweep from it, then something like a Phase90 would be ideal. If you want a wider, more "psychedelic" style sweep, then you really cannot go far wrong with an EHX Small Stone (preferably in the pressed steel box). Yes, I have a steel box Small Stone. Quote
skidder652003 Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 (edited) got an old 80.s Pearl Phaser, rarely use it but it does sound good, a pig with a seperate power supply though http://tonereport.com/blogs/lifestyle/10-vastly-underrated-and-not-currently-made-cheap-pedals/page/two Edited September 9, 2015 by skidder652003 Quote
lee650 Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 +1 on the small stone nano, i love mine! Although I wouldn't mind trying a phase 90 or an EBS D phaser 😆 Quote
danny-79 Posted September 14, 2015 Author Posted September 14, 2015 Thanks for the reply's lots to go on there. the EHX Small stone is looking like a winner so far Quote
fretmeister Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 I'm about to join the phaser party - I'm going for a Mr Black Gilamondo. Demo on YouTube is awesome. Quote
Tuco Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 I used to own a Moog 12 stage which (like all foogers) was incredible but I just couldnt justify the expense a second time on another one so a Small Stone Nano was procured. It does it's job well. Quote
Higgie Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 Quasar DLX here. Fantastic phaser with LOTS of features, but quite pricey. Worth it though if you're looking for that kind of thing. Quote
