Tips for getting a decent bass sound

Superb - I like a lot of your tracks. Thanks for the link. Perhaps the only thing I would change is the reverb on the vocals is a bit bright and metallic sounding in places. The bass sound works well. Quite big and round, juxtaposes quite nicely against the bright piano and guitar, fills a lot of space. Nice.

Thanks - I think I agree with your point on the reverb, but that won't be too hard to change. And thanks for the positive comments on the bass sound it was a complete bitch to get that sounding right.
I really liked the reverb on the vocals - it added character to the mix and seemed to set the whole band in a room - which I like. To be fair if you're going for radio play maybe it's a bit too much on the weird side?
I like the reverb as well, but listening back and as Ped pointed it out it might be a tad harsh in places - I think I may keep the reverb as is but just try to soften the sound a bit (I think the main problem is the small amount of plate reverb that is on the Vocal along with the reverb for the main mix, I may try reducing the level of this slightly to see how it sounds)

Sounds good to me :) personally I would have mixed the effects a little quieter. Possibly find the clack on the acoustic and get rid aswell as a bit more treble. Overall impressed and any changes would just be personal choice.

Possibly a tad more bass in place of some mids on the singer. Aswell as a small cut at about 10k for sibilance. Some people like that too.

Bass sounds very nice and mellow.

At 3:30 on the singer I would add an echo too.

All just personal choice and written as I wrote it.

Congrats on a great mix
