Bassmonkey Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 I agreed to dep for some pals tonight as my band have a night off. Jeez. 33 songs learned. Bloody hard work. Some I'd never even heard hefore. They're great guys and we have jammed lots of times but this is a daunting one. Will be glad when it's over! Wish me luck kids! Andy Quote

Bassmonkey Posted September 12, 2015 Author Posted September 12, 2015 Disco inferno. Happy. Blurred lines. Play that funky music. I feel good. Superstition. Rappers delight. Etc etc. first set over. Went well. Bring on the second. And my cash. Woo hoo Quote
mrtcat Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 Woah, that sounds like my band's set list. There's not a ginger guy singing, a hot lady doing BV's and a guy that looks like brains from thunderbirds on keys is there? Quote

Ran thru it a couple of years back and it was all good. Song is a busker even after all these years If people gave me a set like that nowadays, I wouldn't really embrace it with enthusiasm unless the money was very good or the band was very good..hopefully both.. I have to say some people's sets are thrown together with little or no thought and there is a distinct lack of imagination in some. I tend to look at the vocalist suggesting sets now...and go from there, I don't want to do standard Disco...unless it is great Nile Rogers stuff... but Delta funk is Coooooolll!! IMO Quote
