Hobbayne
In an attempt to squeeze more cash out of their fans, The Beatles have a new release featuring er.., the same old stuff again! http://wogew.blogspot.co.uk/2015/09/beatles-1-mystery-solved.html
Number6
I suppose the estates of John Lennon and George Harrison will just agree it as a formality but it must in someway be instigated by Paul and Ringo.....and Paul certainly isn't skint. chris_b
. . . . neither is Ringo. I would imagine it's Apple, whoever puts their music and videos out and their publisher, who I believe is Sony, who made a business decision to tidy up all the old video tape and put them out as a collectors package. I'd be very surprised if Paul or Ringo would have any input.

I think it's safe to say even the great grand kids will never have to work for a living in the traditional sense. Blue
sprocketflup
Doesn't Michael Jackson own the rights to the Beatles back catalogue? Oh, wait......
Billy Apple
I heard Ringo is selling his old drum kit. Might leave him a bit short if he starts looking for auditions.
Cosmo Valdemar
I think it's justifiable - you can't get the DVD/Blu-Ray content anywhere else other than bootlegs, and the remastered quality will be far higher.
chris_b
MJ used to own the Beatles songs, but sold them on a long time ago, I believe to Sony, to try to pay off some of his massive debts. Hobbayne
I think a better idea would be to release the Let it Be movie on DVD/Blu-ray. That be worth it for the rooftop concert alone.
wateroftyne
No harm getting the stuff into the best possible shape and selling it to people who want to buy it. (I won't be, btw).
KevB
Don't want it? Don't buy it. Problem solved. As far as rights to the back catalog, well Macca was doing something a couple of years ago but not sure what the current state is; http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2394325/Sir-Paul-McCartney-set-win-rights-Beatles-catalogue.html Edited September 16, 2015 by KevB
