Annoying Twit Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Give it a clean before advertising? https://www.gumtree.com/p/other-guitar-accessories/bass-guitar-rockwood/1133728225 Quote
Macker5 Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 What do you expect for £25 or nearest offer! Would probably be worth less if it was clean! Quote
Bassassin Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 (edited) Interesting bound neck & headstock. Wonder what it is? I'd punt £25 on it on the very vague offchance that the pickups are DiMarzio Model Js. Most of the very cheap basses I've had have been absolutely filthy - give this a quick clean and setup and you could probably flip it for a £50 profit. Jon. That headstock looks familiar. Quote
Annoying Twit Posted September 18, 2015 Author Posted September 18, 2015 Isn't it a Rockwood by Hohner? If so, I'm not sure it's worth £75. Quote
Bassassin Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 The more I look at it, the more I think the neck & body aren't related. Black hardware on the neck but not the body is a bit odd, as is the black headstock. Wonder if it's a Peavey Fury neck or something? Someone needs to drop £25 on it so these important questions can be resolved! J. Quote
Beer of the Bass Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Is the headstock bound or has someone gone to town with acrylic paints? I wouldn't be surprised at the latter. Quote

As I know little of Peavey basses I said nowt for fear of ridicule. Quote
alyctes Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 It does look Peavey-ish, but probably not that recent? If I was anywhere near Leicester I'd go and have a look... anyone anywhere near it? Quote

colgraff Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 The fact that the bass is filthy and the picture was taken outside makes me wonder what the inside of the house is like.... Quote

ubit Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 I had an old Westone bass years ago and the head was exactly that shape! Quote

Check the edges of the elephant ears and the centre lobe of the G string tuner (elephant's skull-cap?). Quote
