Broken Wizard Precision bass pickup

Hi,

I bought a Wizard P/J set for my bass a couple years ago, and for a while now when I solo the P pickup I've noticed that the A string's volume is much quieter compared to the rest of the strings. I figured it was just down to me setting it up wrong...but after playing around with tapping the pole pieces with a screwdriver, there's almost no output from the far right pole piece on the bass side. I also tried touching a sewing needle to the poles to see if there was any change in magnetism, and sure enough, the pole in question has almost no magnetic quality at all!

So what happened? Faulty magnet? Faulty pole piece? Any input would be greatly appreciated!
