[/quote] Thanks for the kind words, and yea I love that maple! It's a normal 44mm body thickness and i've left about 6-7mm, so yea quite a bit of headroom I suppose, this is mainly because the cavity cover is about 10mm with a copper plate glued to it for stability and shielding. Dolando Posted December 18, 2016 Author Share Posted December 18, 2016 (edited) Her's a closer look at that Ash and the wenge cover for Plunger! Stainless Steel frets installed. Take ages to install especially when you want to de-tang them just so you can fill the edges in with wood and glue to hide them! A little pointless, but it's definitely the little things that make a great guitar! Neck pocket routed! The standard look how good my neck pocket is photo! Now that the neck pocket is in I can locate and position the bridge then the pickup cavities! Oh and i managed to get the neck holes drilled and the inserts in. I much prefer the bolt system to a standard wood screw, much better contact between neck and body and won't wear out if the neck comes off and on a lot. Not that it should need to! Dolando Posted February 20, 2018 Author Share Posted February 20, 2018 (edited) Sorry it's been a hell of a long time since i've updated this...It's actually all built, but lets pretend it isn't I got the strings on and started to rough out the buffalo horn nut. Frets have all been filed flush levelled and dressed at this point. Oh, and i painted in the pickup cavities with shielding paint. Always easier to do before oil, so any spill over can be sanded away. Once all slots have been roughed in, I can get the strings on. I've not gone up to pitch yet as it's a new neck. Cutting fret slots with nut files to a rough depth to be finalised in final setup. Final sanding ready for oil is next, then onto wring it all up and assembling it for the final time....back soon, I do mean soon!
