I wonder if he realises that the case might fetch as much as the bass?

That was my first thought! The case certainly looks like a late 60s / early 70s Fender case from the limited pics available.

Jolana getting sensible in price: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Jolana-D-bass-1986-neckthrough-E-bass-/150674006892?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item2314dee36c

"Tokai" http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tokai-bass-/140620132397?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item20bd9cf02d

Asked him where he gets the 'Tokai' idea from, apparently he has 'done research' and Tokai don't advertise the basses they apparently make so they don't get sued, aside from all the other copies they make.

I think it may have been mentioned before, but I noticed the other day that the Bass Centre (where the Rockinbetters seem to have first popped up) are now selling identical basses under their Bass Collection brand.

I wonder if the change was so they didn't get sued. :)

Pretty sure there is nothing they can get sued over in this country. But anyone can threaten stuff if they want to.

Jolana is back again, at a fully tempting opening bid: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Jolana-D-bass-1986-neck-through-electric-bass-/280754123807?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item415e3ff41f

An Ibanez with the listing not being nearly clever enough to avoid it getting pulled. I think it's been up before with exactly the same description.

Might have backfired though, no bids on it yet. Or it might be rubbish, of course.

Good topic you have here.... :)

Your own site isn't too shoddy either. :)

Edit: I think I've seen some of your posts on the Ibanez Register ( or is it IbanezRules... can't remember).

yeah, probably Ibanez Rules. I was looking for info on my black faker project. it's a mahogany chunked body and mahogany neck, and it looks like it had a small logo plate nailed to the headstock above the normal RIC TRC. I haven't found a pic of one yet that had a nailed logo plate + the trc, and I've got hundreds of pics of fakers, and have had many conversations with Jon over the past years...

That's disappeared already. Mr. Hall must have a bit of time on his hands today. :)

Actually none of auctions posted on this page seem to have reached completion bar the stealth Probass one, which had no bids at £199. It was relisted but... that's been removed as well. He must have decided to de-cloak! :)
