noirpunk
I was actually thinking about making a TRC myself... not a Rickenbacker one. a NICKenbacker one, since I'm a Nicky Wire fan haha That Fresher is a Nickenbacker in Wireglo

The Arbiters I've seen are Aria/Matsumoku sourced, so expect toaster pickup, wavy Grover copy tuners & twin truss rods. Mat copies did have rubbish bridge pickups (a crappy little thing that looks like a staple) but many of these will have been replaced. I can only remember seeing bolt-neck Arbiters, but there were probably neck-through ones too. Arbiter also sourced some guitars from Kasuga (a very good thing), although none of the Rick copies I've seen have been Kasugas. J. noirpunk
Ah that's cool. I ask because I know someone with an Arbiter who's not too fond of it and I might be able to prise it from them

Bassassin
Great spot - never seen one of those before. And a surprisingly reasonable price, I'd say, for a British luthier-built Rickencopy, even from the infamous Mr Digits! Hope someone on here picks it up. J. Musky
That's an interesting bass - I wonder how it sounds with a mahogany body. Mr. Digits picked it up for £250 it would seem http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=180248143104 I notice how the original seller says it has a high action, whereas the new listing just notes the bridge screws are solid but the action is fine for him. Seeing as he's already done some work on the bass (new logo and filled a hole, at least), I don't think those screws are going to shift anytime soon. joegarcia
I'm extremely tempted to put an offer in on that Gordon Smith. Should I be wary of this seller at all? People don't seem to speak very favorably of him on here. I'm not that bothered that he's marked it up really as it's still a good price for a bass of this quality and shape. And I've desperately wanted an all black Rick shaped thing with a neck humbucker for ages and have heard really good things about Gordon Smith. At least if I do this I wait until the original auction's expired! (Actually I should amend that - 99p & no reserve, me. Usually.) Ashdigits has good feedback & has been knocking around Ebay for years - so I'd say if you don't mind the markup - go for it. J.
