SB1000 in case. Looks very nice. If I win it for my ridiculous lowball bid, you can bet I'll travel to where-ever it is in Lincolnshire to pick it up :)
Given that the current bid is £50, it would be very interesting (in a good way) if you could sell some of the bits and get all your money back :)
With the plate and the bridge trashed, I think the major parts aren't going to be going with mine. I am making some repro bits, so any faker fans should pm me and show some interest so I know what is worth doing a run of rather than one-offs.

Given he's the guy who bought my CMI a few weeks ago I'm assumming these are the parts of that (Went a bit CSI there on you all).

Not really sure why he;d sell them to be honest but I can vouch for the fact that when I sold em they worked and that bass did have a lovely tone, no doubt about it. The neck pickup in particular was awesome.

That's a real shame - your bass looked like an excellent original example. If it had sold on here it would be a lot less likely to have gone to some twonk who wants to butcher it. Oh well. :)

Must admit, although it's up to him what he does with it I did think the same when I saw em. As for it being an original example, you're spot on, I took it to Tito from Fulwood (recommended luthier on here) for a set up and his initial reaction was "it's barely been played".

Why's it a project, I wonder?

Anyway an interesting example - and not just for the spectacularly erm, interesting spelling. Check out the tailpiece, with its very square string holes - these appeared on the very earliest Fujigen Fakers, and construction-wise have more in common with the original Ricky sandcast aluminium units than the later hollow ones - they're thick, rock-solid & very unlikely to lift. According to the pickup date codes the bass is 1974 - these tailpieces usually appear on much earlier examples.

The spelling is quite origonal? And his approach to punctuation is a little unusual too? I imagine him as speaking with that irritating lift at the end of sentences?

Looking at that chip out of the nut end of the fingerboard, and reading the bit about needing a new "trust rod nut", my own trust is that there has been a degree of butchery for which the nut was removed and subsequently replaced. I wouldn't be surprised to find that a degree of percussive maintenance had been perpetrated.
