TorturedSaints
Another great set of entries. Difficult to make a choice, things to like about all of them. Well done.
ezbass
Voted. Bilbo got my vote this month, I really liked the John Martyn meets Pat Metheny with Danny Thompson on bass vibe.

Dad3353
Sorry to disappoint my fans ( ), but I shan't be doing a 'Play of the Day' again this month. I gave it a go, but had to abandon, as it's too wearing for me; I can't do justice to the compositions. I'll keep trying (yes, I'm a stubborn old beggar...), but it won't be for this month. I've yet to listen to 'em all, but what I've heard so far confirms, once again, that choosing will be difficult. Why does that no longer surprise me..? lurksalot
There are 5 , apart from mine , that I want to vote for , this one may involve pulling numbers from a hat

Dad3353
7 x 3 = 15
I'm not sure but if you voted when only one vote was available, and then went back to add the two extra votes, the dumb machine clocks up two voters. In that case, as there were two single votes at the start, there have really been five voters, hence the fifteen votes. That's what I think, anyway. It may be right, it may be wrong; who knows..? How does this affect the price of fish..? Aha..! Another topic, I fear. It's either that or a wicked conspiracy to try to get us to believe that Jim Morrison is dead. Ha..! Fat chance; he's alive and well and joins Elvis every evening for a jam session on their respective secret islands, taking turns to play host. True, dat... Dad3353
Voted... I'm surprised that it's not an even closer race, though, as the stuff put up is really excellent again. Still time left for one to pull ahead, but a draw would be a logical conclusion, too. 'Sgonna be close again, folks... Eight entrants. Eight voters (so far...). Hmm... lurksalot
I counted 10 voters .... well it says 10 at the top but yes , it does seem a shame.
Dad3353
I counted 10 voters .... well it says 10 at the top but yes , it does seem a shame.
The machine says 10, but when first put up, the vote didn't allow 3 votes; an error. The first two folks to vote found they could only vote for one. The topic was rectified, and those two gave their complementary verdict for two more entries. The machine, however, counted them as 'new' voters..! Eight real, ten 'virtual' voters. That's why there's a discrepancy in the total number of votes cast. 24 in total. That's 8 * 3. It all adds up, you see. Eight entrants; eight voters. 24 in all. A perfect circle. Isn't Nature wonderful..? Who, then, is going to disturb this harmony and push one or other of those vying for the top spot to the fore, eh..? Who..? That's what I'd like to know. Who dares interfere with this crystalline structure, break this delicate poise, create ripples that could undermine the very fabric of time and space..? Who, eh..? Suspense... the boy
its a shame that some months the voting numbers are so low.... I'm not sure how to address this, I guess people aren't interested are too busy or simply find it a chore to wade through the entries. The challenge itself is pretty obviously displayed in general discussion so there isn't a lot more to be done. I wonder how difficult it would be to send all members a blanket PM reminding them to have a listen and vote??? I'm not sure what the implications of that would be, perhaps it would cause some technical repercussions, Im not sure. It would be great to expose the talent here to as wide an audience as possible, maybe bluejay could give the winner a mention in her article at bass magazine each month. Maybe things are fine the way they are, any thoughts?????
Dad3353
We did have a spate of 'promotional' posts, including 'trick' ones ('Would you like to see a pair of boobies..?' and such...), but they were globally judged to be more of an irritation than an incitement, and the consensus reached that, if the folks are interested, they'll participate and vote, if they're not, well, so be it. A shame, I'd agree, but their loss, and we know about leading horses to water and all and all... Anyone got a better plan,.? I often see topics with requests such as 'Here's our new track; anyone care to comment on it, please..?' which equally solicit little response. In general, I'd say that most members are interested mainly in moving their gear around or arguing the toss over which car is best for metal more than listening to unknown music from unknown musicians. Such is life on this ball of clay, it would seem. Edited September 29, 2015 by Dad3353
Bilbo
I don't think it matters, if I am honest. I probably get as many listens through Soundcloud itself as I do through here. Nothing I have done here is going to win a Grammy. Leave it be, I say.
Skol303
I haven't yet voted, so that's one more to come! But it does seem like a particularly slow month, voting wise. I appreciate that some members voiced objection to being 'nagged/tricked' into stumbling across the voting thread... but what the heck, I'm going to post a 'reminder' in General Discussion and try drumming up some support. It was only two or three people who objected last time (one of whom has since, err, departed to another forum) so I'm sure it won't cause too much upset just this once (if it does, I'll just say that Dad made me do it ).
