Dom in Dorset Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 My lightest bass is my bitsa fretless at 8lb. I'm working on a headless bass that should clock in at 4.5lb Apart from acoustics , Ashborys and ukes who's got the lightest bass? Quote
JapanAxe Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 I tried Happy Jack's Miller fretless at the Bass Bash last Saturday, and that was remarkably light. It's a carbon fibre monocoque design. Quote
BassBunny Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 I've got 3 Bass Collections 5 strings. The lightest is 6.8Lbs and the heaviest 7.2Lbs. Quote

ezbass Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 According to the website, my Rob Allen MB2 is approx 6.5lbs. To be honest, it feels lighter. Quote
CamdenRob Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Definitely not either of my wals... Quote
warwickhunt Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Warwick Streamer (NT) 7lb 4oz... I also have an Aria Sinsonido which is lighter BUT some of the body is fresh air so it doesn't count IMHO. Quote

philw Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 (edited) My 5 sting fretless Veillette Flyer is 2.2kg (4.85lb). Don't think there's anything much lighter out there. P PS. My Wal on the other hand is 4.5kg (9.9lbs) Edited October 1, 2015 by philw Quote
Matt P Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 my Letts Singlecut 5 is 7.5lbs I think I might also own one of the heaviest, I have a concrete bass that crushes the scales at over 16lbs (especially impressive considering its a violin bass shaped body) Quote
CamdenRob Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015
... I have a concrete bass...
You have a concrete bass? Any chance of a pic? Quote
I'll see if I can sort some tonight, it started life as a hollow violin bass but the previous owner was convinced that a bass shouldn't be resonant so filled it with concrete, it's just about playable. I need to find it a new home really. Matt Quote
