I remember it (I was 9) but not particurlarly special to me.

Just looked it up, and apparently it was initially released in 1984 and reached no51 in the UK, then when it was rereleased in 1985 it went to no2 in the UK and no1 in the states.

Used to good effect in an only fools and horses episode.
I was just a bit too young to be aware of it from radio play but del boy introduced me to it a few years later.

Only simply red material I can handle.

Sorry 'Bubs. I agree with 99.99% of your taste in good music... this being the 0.01%

It's just one of those tracks that causes me to have a reaction akin to sucking lemons. Probably because it's the antithesis of what the 80s were about for me.

But to each their own! :drinks:

I thought it was going to be Angel of Death by Slayer - still different strokes 'n all that :)

I was thinking of Mexican Radio by Wall of Voodoo, but the same applies :)

My wife wanted one of those 80's compilation CD's for Christmas one year. When she opened it, she was very happy, but was informed that she was unable to play it in my presence EVER. :D

I hated 80's pop music, thank goodness there were plenty of other genre's that were producing great music & thank goodness for John Peel & Tommy Vance!

Well bubinga I guess its just you and me (and several million others ;) ) who think its a great song :). There's also quite a few cracking bass lines in the bands back catalogue that are great to work out and play along to.

Maybe I struck lucky, I don't know, but my '80s were filled with stuff like this ...

May not be to everyone's taste, of course, and it's odd, as I do like soup in a plate, but not in my ears.

Spent a lot of the eighties catching up with stuff I still hadn't heard that was recorded in the 70's or with stuff recorded in the 80's by artists who were probably at the peak of their careers in the 70's. :D
