Fuzzbass2000 Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Had a twang on a Gibson ES Les Paul Bass recently. Lovely guitar... but mucho dinero. The thing that caught my eye was the flatwounds it was strung with. Anyone know what they use as standard on the these instruments? Strings had blue wrappings at either end and had a slightly textured feel. http://www.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/2015/Memphis/ES-Les-Paul-Bass.aspx#BALP15FDNH1 Quote
cybertect Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Gibson signed a deal last year with Cleartone to supply their factory-fitted strings for guitars http://www.cleartonestrings.com/gibsons-top-notch-quality-matches-cleartone-strings/ but, it seems they only do what look like coated nickel roundwounds http://www.cleartonestrings.com/product/nickel-plated-steel-nps-bass-strings/ so, that might not be so helpful Quote
