Jimelliottbassist Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Hi I'm thinking of getting a new Ampeg Classic 6x10. Has anyone recently used a Chinese made one? Any thoughts? Quote
danbowskill Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 (edited) I don't know about the chinese 1's ,i have a usa slm 6x10 and it sounds ace.....i can't imagine a chinese 1 will differ much? i understand component issues/qc etc with the amps maybe...........but the cabs use the same cones (and wood is wood to a degree) Edited October 3, 2015 by danbowskill Quote
Dan Dare Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Plenty of used Ampeg on the 'Bay and similar. I'd try one in a shop and then look to buy used if you like it. You'll save a lot of money. Quote
Jimelliottbassist Posted October 3, 2015 Author Posted October 3, 2015 I'm really looking for anyone who owns a Chinese Ampeg to say what the qualities like. Quote
mazdah Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 The sound and the quality is WAY BETTER than the US made cabs from years 1999-2006. The new cabs are made of plywood instead of OSB, they have better speakers. You can safely buy Korean, Chinese or Vietnamese Ampeg cabinet. Quote
Delberthot Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 The Chinese are scarily good at everything Quote
