Graham Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Finally broke out the guitar for some writing this evening, and oh my goodness my wrists aren't thanking me. They're so used to bass that chords and picking feel so wrong. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but uncomfortable at the moment.
JapanAxe Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 It's the guitar strings that get me. Nice fat bass strings (flats) are kind to the fingers, but skinny strings make them sore.

ahpook Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 (edited) Warm up on bass first ? Excuse to play more guitar ? Edited October 3, 2015 by ahpook
Graham Posted October 4, 2015 Author Posted October 4, 2015 In fairness, I probably should have warmed up more before jumping into black metal riffs, but my left hand was just so uncomfortable making chord shapes, and keeping them static; definitely a bassist at heart
Weststarx Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 I use 11s and find it much easier to transfer between guitar and bass. As for the chords and the aches, its probably just because the muscles in your hand arent there anymore!
