All that time and effort spent matching up forum names to avatars, and in some cases even noting their real names, and then people go and change their bloody avatar!

Why?

What's wrong with you?

Are you so bored that you could find nothing else to do today?

We need a software update. Any avatar left unchanged for a year and a day should be autoconverted into an Avatar Tattoo that cannot be changed or amended without a long and expensive treatment.

That'll show the bastards.

ps: Just in case Dad3353 thought this might be aimed him, damned right it is!

;)

These are called smiley faces. They mean that there's no need for anyone to take this too seriously.

On the other hand, it the cap fits ...

Spot the difference...

In the interest of honesty, I can no longer purport to being the charming svelte fellow in the first, nor the hyper-active bloke in the second pic. I'm now (and for quite a while...) the [s]ageing[/s] aged duffer in the third.
Exception, of course, for any post-Christmas update after a bout of 'Secret Santa', assuming anyone offers me anything, which is not a given...

A subsidiary question strikes me... Should I be worried or pleased that my choice of avatar solicits more comment than the contents of my posts..? Hmm...

 :P

Mine's not me. It's a Hiccup, and will remain so until I can't remember where this forum is anymore.

Come to think of it, it'll still be a Hiccup even after I have lost the plot. That way I'll be able to stay forever young in the eyes of my fellow Basschatterers...

I had the same avatar from 2008 until this year (upright playing frog) but then I was bitten by the Ric bug and just had to share; I apologise ;)

Damn!! And there was me being polite to you!!! :o

Mind you, the "hansome bearded ex-librarian" does contradict the pic I guess

Odd you should say that, but all ex-librarians get a new identity...once you leave The Silent Service it's a new passport, new history, the works.

When you read everything you sometimes end up knowing too much.

Of course not! It's me.

I always wondered where you got the pic from... <_<

Guys, guys, guys, I have NO problem with those who haven't changed their avatar since Gordon Brown was PM (yes EBS_freak, I'm looking at you).

My rant is reserved for those who establish their avatar over many years, and then throw me completely by changing it, usually to something completely unrelated.

At least Douglas replaced one picture of himself drumming clean-shaven to another of him getting his sticks caught in his beard.

When you are the moon, you don't change your avatar.

I think you're hiding something....maybe a dark side we've not seen yet.

Happy Jack is right, it's really annoying when people change their avatar. I'd never do it.

S.P.

Yeah, especially changing them to the moving ones!
