Let's get this out of the way- I don't play Jazz basses. I'm a P player through and through. However, over a year ago I acquired a decent Jazz neck which I intended to use on a JV P bass on which I'd snapped the truss. Long story short, I fixed the truss, so the neck then became obsolete.

Fast forward to now, and I have weirdly and suddenly developed jazz bass gas. Knowing I have this neck to use has led me on a mission to gather the rest of the parts needed to make a killer Jazz bass. I know I want it to be a stack knob (which thanks to obbm it will be), but I'm stuck on the colour.

I've ruled out Fiesta Red and Sunburst, and I'm a big fan of the funky sixties colours like Daphne, Seafoam etc, but I'd like BC'ers options on the best stack knob/rosewood Jazz colour choices!!

Post your faves please, so I can get this project started.

Cheers!

I've got an ocean turquoise/white pick guard/rosewood board model.
It's a fender Japanese '62 reissue with chrome stack knobs.
Very nice.

Yeow! That's nice. I can smell the nicotine seeping off that from here.

I'm with Discreet on this one :gas:

More importantly though, it has to be what you like, not us lot. :)

Good suggestions guys!

There is a stack knob jazz in the Show is yer limelight thread that I love- in Orange!

It's fantastic but it has a maple neck. I fear it wouldn't look as good with Rosewood.

I can't post the pic here as BC won't allow it.

If there is one reason I've ever lusted after a Stingray, it's that ernie ball know how to make a good looking neck. That's on a par- is it a Custom Shop?

Loving these suggestions.

Weirdly, I've had an urge to do a flat grey bass for a while, and had seen this colour on a car a while back, which I really like

It's called Tech House Grey. Can you even paint a bass in automotive lacquer? Again I think this colour might lend itself more to maple fretboard and would look a bit heavy with rosewood.

Whilst I'm on Fiat 500's, they do a pretty sweet mint green:

A nice duck egg blue might work also.
