Hi there, I'm loooking for a reasonably cheap, easy to use distortion and overdrive pedal. Wondered if you guys could advise me as to what the best pedals out there are? Cheers
Blimey, the million dollar question! :)

And of course the correct answer is... there is no correct answer.

Distortion is an incredibly personal effect, and what sounds perfect to one person can be an unusable heap of junk to another.

This is a subject that pops up weekly, and if you use the search box at the bottom of this forum and search for distortion you'll find stacks of threads with suggestions. A decent place to start is http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=10639

Reasonably priced stuff off the top of my head: Boss ODB-3, Ibanez Phat hed, Digitech Bad (or Badder) Monkey, Nobels Bass Overdrive, Danelectro fabtone, Dod 250...

might want to make that a bass big muff!
also +the one on the lomenzo - extremely versatile.
you'll find as mentioned above that between the lot of us we must have got through hundreds of different brands / models, and each of us has our own preference. Pedals i've loved a while ago sound odd now, yet in six months I will probably dig them out and love them again!! Equally pedals i've hated will sound awesome in six ish months time too! ears are strange things!

Sitting in front of my board right now, having a rejig to compensate for one less guitarist. I have 3 overdrives and one is two channel. You can have my ODB3 for £30 if you want, its a good starting point, lots of adjustable on it. The Sansamp bass driver is something thats kinda expensive, but it will last you, can dirt up amps with it, or just use it as a DI, which is gonna be fairly familiar to any sound man, so they'll know to work with it.
