GisserD
Is anybody aware of any low-profile right angled midi cables? Even right angles seem to be tricky to get hold of in short length. I've looked inside a straight Neutric midi connector and I cant seem to find any good reason as to why they have to be so long! I building a midi controlled board based around my source audio manta and line 6 m5, and id like to get the pedals closer together on the board. Can anybody help? Thanks
pfretrock
Probably need to make your own, if possible. There is a cheap looking F268Q connector available here: http://cpc.farnell.c...70545?ost=F268Q or here: http://www.audiospar...ome.php?cat=139 When Midi was invented, midi connected pedal boards were probably not anticipated. Perhaps BC'er obbm can help?
ProfFrink
Funny, I was just looking for the same thing. Best-Tronics seem to have a few options which seem nice. E.g.: http://btpa.com/MIDI1R-XX.html They have right-angle and straight, and the right-angle have an adjustable angle vs the orientation of the pins. I've found them while browsing the 'Disaster Area' site. They also recommend and sell these.
GisserD
FANTASTIC! I thought clocking the connector would be way too much to ask!!! so I didn't bother. Do you have any experience ordering from the states? I once ordered a guitar neck once for a build project, cost me a fortune to get it through customs! either way ill probably order some. if your making an order too we could combine postage? appears to be $40 for my package!!!! ProfFrink
I'm not from the UK, so don't know much about UK customs and can't combine... Sorry mate :-) The BTPA site seems to have Paypal checkout. This gives some level of assurance because IINM Paypal has some sort of money-back guarantee or disputes system (luckily never had to test this). However this will only help for catastrophes, not for shipping and tax costs.
elephantgrey
Just resurrecting this thread cause im looking for some more board friendly midi cables. The connectors on the ones from BTPA seam to be made from a company called Switchcraft (05DL5M). They seam pretty hard to come across, especially this side of the atlantic.
