Norris Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 A Squier, an old Peavey combo of sufficient volume and a lead. Sorted. Quote
TrevorR Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015
Secondhand Squier VMJ (or maybe a £40 Harley Benton Deko Jazz, if one came up), a loud amp that works, and a lead to connect the two. Oh, and a strap. Jon.
I'd add a headstock clip tuner but that's about it for need. But what's the fun in need? Quote

gjones Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 A vintage or Squier bass and an Ashdown EB 150 combo, would leave you change for 10 pints and a curry. Perfectly useable gear for an average pub gig. Quote
MoonBassAlpha Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 The squire and Ashdown ain't too bad either Quote
elephantgrey Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 Well, for that money id probably just borrow a bass and combo, then buy a frantabit and a b1on, and hope that they turn up in time. Quote
KingBollock Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 Peavey T-Max 500 - £160 Peavey 410 - £40 Aria 5 string - £150 That's what I paid for those. Though I have had the amp for over fifteen years and the bass for not much shy of that. I have seen the same bass, more recently, in better condition for just £115. I don't have enough money to be too proud to play cheap stuff... I do have better, more expensive basses (though not a lot more expensive). If I was to come into money I would probably stick with the same amp anyway. I love it. Quote
LayDownThaFunk Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015
£349.50 worth of crack cocaine and an old tennis racket for 50p from a local charity shop.
Best post all year. Quote
