New composition - Skyview Progression

Hey guys, just finished this new tune, its a bass led instrumental, not really sure what genre you'd call it, kindof electronic/jazz/ambient? Not great with that sort of stuff but anyway let me know what you think

The synth sounds too confusing for my taste and takes all the attention towards it self which I didn't like. I did enjoy the bass and guitar part but would love to hear this without the synth.

EDIT;
The synth sounds good in the mix from 1:10 to 1:50 but the rest is a bit too much for my ear. I would not mind hearing that squealing synth only at the beginning though as an intro.

Cheers for the feedback, I thought that the synth strings might be seen as jarring but I had hoped the bass guitar and other instruments would take the sting out of it, I noticed it sounded a lot more saturated through headphones than my speakers which are a bit bass heavy. I think the track would be really lacking if I took the strings out but maybe I could bring them down a bit.
