ChunkyMunky Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Props for perhaps the funkiest finish I've ever seen on a Musicman!
Pinball Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 (edited) That is sick Love it! Edited October 12, 2015 by Pinball
Satrugar Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 I love that finish! But I'm pretty sure it's a normal Stingray 5, not a Classic...
Dad3353 Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 (edited) From another bass forum where the subject was broached...
I think there are some terminology issues here. Let me briefly explain the differences between the SR5 models. A standard SR5 has one humbucking pickup "H" configuration, a three-band EQ and a 3-position switch to adjust pickup configuration. A classic SR5 has one humbucking pickup "H" configuration and a two-band EQ and no switch. An "HS" SR5 has a single coil closer to the neck and humbucking pickup, a three-band EQ, and a 5-position switch to adjust pickup configuration. An "HH" SR5 has two humbuckers and a three-band EQ and a 5-position switch to adjust pickup configuration. The classic SR5 is only available in the "H" configuration, no "HS" or "HH" option.
Hope this helps. Edited October 12, 2015 by Dad3353
Satrugar Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015
A standard SR5 has one humbucking pickup "H" configuration, a three-band EQ and a 3-position switch to adjust pickup configuration. A classic SR5 has one humbucking pickup "H" configuration and a two-band EQ and no switch.
This. Also the body and the pickguard are shaped a bit differently (more like the original 4 string Stingray on the Classic) and I believe the Classic also has those foam mute pads on the bridge and string-through-body option. Personally I like the "normal" Stingray 5 better.
chaypup Posted October 13, 2015 Author Posted October 13, 2015 Thanks Dad. Thanks erm, 'Uncle' Satrugar!

Rikki1984 Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 I don't like the look of a Stingray 5ers or garish colours but somehow that is one of the best looking basses I've seen on this forum! GLWTS
