Just outstandingly beautiful ..... And bass tone to die for.....

The drummer (boxist?) help coax it from a bass noodle to a tune. As does the great arrangements.

Nice chord progression...

Good spot! Also I'd love a J with an action like that!

Fernando is a top bass player and composer, very tasteful playing.
Check his other work, worth a listen too!

Yep.

Effortless, relaxed playing with a lovely feel.
Nice composition and arrangement.

Would have sounded the same played on a guitar, with a similar tone. Pleasant noodling, but ultimately pointless on a bass.

Pointless ?
And of course ,you'd be entitled to your opinion..........

Musical tastes vary hugely of course but if you can't see or appreciate on some level what's happening here theres something wrong.... To suggest it's pointless is just silly.

Really enjoyed that and I loved how it effortlessly blended into new directions by just changing something simple. I also found it interesting how the bass took the role and tone of a guitar and for me it worked. I agree that it could had been played on a guitar but I think some of the tone and personally would had been lost. What I would had liked would be some soft keys.

Either way, totally loved it.

I have to agree. It is pleasant. However, if it was played on a guitar or piano it would just be boring,

Meh... it's pleasant and relaxing yes (although there are times when it feels like the percussion and bass are playing different tunes), but it's all been done before really hasn't it? Not that I could do it of course

Nice tone though, I agree :)

That's it: it's interesting to us (to a point) because it's played on a bass, and this is a bassist's forum, but to 99% of listeners it doesn't matter. If the video would have been a guitarist playing the same thing, I'm sure the response would've been a lot more 'meh'. From the point of view of the piece as music, the bass as the lead instrument is the pointless bit. The tone is pretty 'bedroom noodle' for me, too.
