Obviously not as concerned about recycling back then, I suppose. How things change.

Au contraire, the turgid teens made sure they were used again...

It says it is "...loaded with 100 dynamic Kaoss effects..."

What is the difference between digital modulation and an fx unit? I don't get it.

I phrased things badly! Yes, they are an fx unit, but they are very performance-oriented because of the touchpad control surface (unlike your normal stomp/rack unit) allowing for real-time control of sampling, pitch shifting, modulation, etc. Used well they're very interesting tools. A friend of mine plays electronica and the full-fat version of the device is a huge part of his live performances. Not entirely sure why I'd want to stick one on the bass, though.

It's still pretty much completely unsuitable for most genres of metal!

I sort of want one. Saw Hot Chip at the Brixton academy on friday night and found myself wondering how much of that sort of sound i could make in a 'royal blood goes acid house' sort of a way!

I was speaking to a guitar playing friend of mine about it and he said that Matt Belamy of Muse fame uses/used one on his electric guitar and he actually had the unit integral to the guitar to use for live performances. Looks like it might be quite interesting if you have money to experiment with!

I've seen a few Kaos Pad guitar demos along with some Matt Bellamy stuff and it seems a bit of a one trick pony.

I can't really imagine how you'd use that trick on a bass unless you're in Royal Blood or some other band which required the bass to make brief bursts of unusual noises.

Check out some of my later Soundcloud stuff. I've used one quite a lot.

Steve Lawson uses one quite a bit too.

Certainly not a one trick pony. I guess it's down to what you play ?
