Hector Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 (edited) With a heavy heart, putting my Limelight 63 precision bass replica up for sale. It sounds, looks, and feels absolutely delightful - really nails the p tone. Unfortunately, I've not got currently any projects that require that vibe, and am about to incur some costs from [s]upgrading some of the parts on my double bass [/s]endless GAS. I did withdraw this once, but it's been all but unused since then, and it's made to be gigged! Asking [s]£750[/s] £700 and I'll throw in my protection racket case. Built for me in January 2015. Specs are: #145 Faded Sonic Blue Hand rolled finger board Clay dots Lightest relic Rosewood P width neck Parchment scratchplate Period correct 1960's Fender Precision logo Thumb rest below strings. All metal work just lightly tarnished Reverse Got0h Tuners Strap button on reverse of headstock Weight is 3.9 kg which is 8.6 lbs I have had a dodgy input jack replaced, and have also freed up all the tarnished hardware (can get seized up on some Limelights) and treated with a layer of WD-40 (plus a little dab of vaseline in the tuning machines). Would prefer to meet, so collection from south/central London preferred, but would also be willing to travel (within reason) or have the bass delivered. [s]As I said, looking to free up some cash for DB upgrades, so the only trade I'd consider is an Ibanez SR605 plus some cash my way.[/s] Trades considered, looking for 5ers with tight spacing and short scale lengths to string E-C. Pics attached (I hope!): Edited April 1, 2016 by Hector
eevespete Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 This is lovely.. would complement my shell pink Limelight a treat! You been using wounds or flats out of curiosity?
Hector Posted October 21, 2015 Author Posted October 21, 2015 Sorry shadowalka - I don't have access to any scales. I don't want to know how much I've ballooned recently! You're welcome to come feel the weight of it and have a play at Hector's House eevespete - it's got flats on, and it thumps like a beauty. Since JapanAxe asked, here's a picture of the front of the headstock so youse can all see the decal:
spiltmilk_2000 Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Free bump for a beautiful looking bass and an absolutely top drawer BCer... GLWTS!
Hector Posted October 27, 2015 Author Posted October 27, 2015 What the hell was I thinking? Just been playing it again this evening, and there's no way I can part with a bass this great. Mods, please lock this thread.
Hector Posted March 3, 2016 Author Posted March 3, 2016 Despite the fact that this remains a fantastic bass, it's not suited to the sort of place I'm at musically these days. Back up FS.
Hector Posted March 14, 2016 Author Posted March 14, 2016 Bump - reduced price slightly and edited trade options.
Hector Posted March 22, 2016 Author Posted March 22, 2016 Bump - please don't test my resolve to move this on!
karlfer Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Weight, well, ask any female friend/relative, one of them will have luggage scales. Piece of string, hankie, whatever, hang bass off scales. Lovely bass but it's a 400 mile trip for me, others much further. As a pose to £30 fully insured courier. Lovely bass, good luck.
Hector Posted March 23, 2016 Author Posted March 23, 2016 I've actually got some scales now, will have a weigh tonight and update the original post. I would also now be willing to send the bass if needed.
Hector Posted March 28, 2016 Author Posted March 28, 2016 BUMP to say sorry I forgot to weigh it and went away to visit relatives for Easter....
Hector Posted March 30, 2016 Author Posted March 30, 2016 Just to update with weight for various interested people: 3.9 kg which is 8.6 lbs
Hector Posted April 1, 2016 Author Posted April 1, 2016 This is now traded. Hopefully Ben will become a trusty (and much gigged!) companion in his new home
