Apart from their amazing work with "Colosseum", IMO they are the best rhythm section that blues man John Mayall ever had. Here they are on Mayall's "Bare Wires" album on the track "Look In The Mirror". It can be greater when it's bass, drums and rhythm guitar. So I'd go for Duff McKagan, Steve Adler and Izzy Stradlin' - aka the three original Guns n Roses members the general public can't name.
