pbasspecial Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Up for sale is my lovely DHA VT2 rack mount preamp. 2 valves, amazing tone. This a quality, hand made boutique British made twin valve preamp. Not some far eastern, factory made rubbish. You can blend 1+2 to switch between warm valve or overdrive to a real rocking distortion (just like Billy Sheehan) if you so wish. The only reason I am selling this truly amazing bit of kit is that I no longer use a rack mounted bass amp. Have an OTB 500. I am going to use the proceeds to buy another DHA pedal. These rarely come up. Don't miss out. Comes with footswitch and power supply too. Up for only £195. They cost almost £450 new (VT3). This is less than half price. Click on the link for photos and a full description: http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/dha-vt2-valve-tone-dual-custom-rack-423487641# I am based in Bromley, near London and can post to you at cost.
paul_5 Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Nice. I kind of miss my old VT2 pedal, 'twas an amazing piece of kit. A rack mounted one would make a lot of sense, since I never turn it off!
pbasspecial Posted October 22, 2015 Author Posted October 22, 2015 I agree. Superb kit from Dave Hall. Feel free to treat yourself to it then
Merton Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Paul's a top fella and looks after his gear, buy with confidence
pbasspecial Posted October 23, 2015 Author Posted October 23, 2015 Thanks Martin. You are too kind Sir.
pbasspecial Posted November 5, 2015 Author Posted November 5, 2015 Now back up for sale as the person who wanted has gone silent. Have run it recently (at home) through my Orange terror bass head and Barefaced Super Compact and makes them sound even better! Only selling as I have my eye on a 70's P Bass (yob). Comes with powers supply and footswitch!
redbandit599 Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 (edited) This may be a basic question - but do you plug these straight into the front of your existing amp, or via the effects loop? I use the loop on my amp for effects, so just wonder how you actually plumb these in? Edited November 6, 2015 by redbandit599
pbasspecial Posted November 6, 2015 Author Posted November 6, 2015 I plug my bass straight in to it and then into the amps input but I believe both ways are fine. I was just short on cables.
paul_5 Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 I've got the VT1 (half of this unit in a pedal) and I use mine straight into the amp. This allows me to send 'my sound' to front of house via the DI out, and use the amp's EQ to compensate for the room. I've also used the 'boost' function and gone straight into a power amp with equally good results. Really great sounding and flexible units.
pbasspecial Posted December 6, 2016 Author Posted December 6, 2016 This is now back up for sale again £160 (without the PSU) Billy Bargain as I now have the pedal version.
rosco Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 I recently acquired the pedal version of this and upgraded the tubes to n.o.s mullards. Simply cannot gig without it, it's a wonderful sounding box with harmonic content for days. This is a bargain begging to be bought (also a crucial upgrade for anyone wanting to add some real warmth and harmonic complexity to their solid state head).
pbasspecial Posted December 10, 2016 Author Posted December 10, 2016 DHA Rackmountable VT2 unit with footswitch & cable for just £160. These things are amazing. Absolute bargain at this price. You'd be bananas not to buy it
Rich Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Pics would be good. The original link doesn't appear to work.
drake Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 Dave Hall pre's are top notch, both live and for recording
pbasspecial Posted December 13, 2016 Author Posted December 13, 2016 Absolutely. The only reason I am selling is that I used to have a rack based amp but now use an orange terror bass and have the DHA VT2 pedal now. Did I mention it looks really cool lit up too!
pbasspecial Posted December 20, 2016 Author Posted December 20, 2016 This is now sold. Could you please amend. Thanks.
