bassmayhem Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 (edited) Due to circumstances (a.k.a. GAS) my lovely US Joe Osborn 5 is for sale. The bass is in excellent condition, totally original except for one thing: it is fully shielded. The JO and BG basses from Lakland - top notch instruments - are at the "original bass players" request unshielded. Presumably because "old Fenders never were". Anyhow, without shielding you got the swarm of flies in your sound; now it is nice and quiet and works very well, both in studio and live. I've made the shielding myself, it is removable if you don't like it. (And a little bit visible around the pups...) Anyway, here he is: Blue Joe! No trades! The bass is in Sweden and can be sent at buyer's expense. More pic's on demand. Edited November 7, 2015 by bassmayhem
juliusmonk Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 My experience is that shielding is a must on Laklands, well done. GLWTS
bassmayhem Posted October 28, 2015 Author Posted October 28, 2015
How much does it weigh? Any more pics?
Light! Pic's later. I post them in the thread.
rodney72a Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 More pics would be good. Also exact weight. Which year was it made in? Does it come with the original case?

The original case is there, but unfortunately it is broken on the back side. I have started to repair it, but it will be visible in the tolex. The creme white Lakland cases are good looking, but oh, so fragile. Not like an old Fender case. I got three US Lakies: two have broken cases. I think they are made of cardboard or something similar. No plywood in there!!!
bassmayhem Posted October 30, 2015 Author Posted October 30, 2015 Some pic's... bassmayhem Posted November 5, 2015 Author Posted November 5, 2015 Well, I may have missed clicking one or other box... As I said in my own words: No Trades!
davidak Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 I wish I would be 5 string player, what a nice JO! I assume it is alder body, as long as it has solid finish? Good luck with the sale.

It feels "at home" even for a four string player...
