MoonBassAlpha Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Playing this tonight, we don't do many covers. I checked out the original to make sure I was on the right track and wasn't missing any clever bits out. Shouldn't have bothered, it's pretty much the same all the way through. Ho hum. Always goes down a storm at this time of year. Time to suck it up I guess. Going to dress as a twisted firestarter. Anyone else dressing up tonight? Quote
northstreet Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Best opening line of any song ever imho Quote
Oopsdabassist Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Given its repetitive nature..its a cracking song, Warren Zevon, sadly missed. Quote
KevB Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Just go from that to sweet home alabama and then the kid rock thing and back to werewolves ;-) Quote
wateroftyne Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 A great, distinctive groove courtesy of Fleetwood & McVie. Who cares if it's the same all the way through? What a tune! Quote
Slipperydick Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 works like this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58iecUPI-_w Quote
Mickeyboro Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Have just retired after 30 years interviewing musicians. WZ was the most unpleasant and screwed-up individual I spoke to in that time. As a big fan of his music, and having read the book, I think this definitely fuelled his muse. The Excitable Boy album is still up there as unique and a classic. And Werewolves ain't even the best track, IMO. Quote
MoonBassAlpha Posted November 1, 2015 Author Posted November 1, 2015 Yeah, we grooved it, and as expected it went down a storm. The great reaction of the audience helped me to not notice the repetitive-Ness. I enjoyed it more than usual. Quote
chris_b Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 (edited) Great song. We used to play it a lot. Time to dust it off, it's been rested for long enough. Edited November 1, 2015 by chris_b Quote
spongebob Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 We play it every gig - as we are The Howlin' Wolves, it's kind of become our theme song! Quote
MoonBassAlpha Posted November 1, 2015 Author Posted November 1, 2015 In your case it would be almost rude not to! Quote
