Normski Posted March 22 Posted March 22 Hey it was great to meet you Thursday night at the wonderful Tivoli. Our gig in Braga Portugal went very well thanks! 1 Quote
vbance Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Levellers last night in Basingstoke, first time I've been to a gig with silent stage. An odd experience. Sound was pretty good except for bass and I wonder if it was better further back as we were front row. Tiny speakers to fill the front of stage. Still had a great time and the band were excellent. Mid seventies EB3 was nice to see even if I couldn't Hear it too well. 2 Quote

Not the best vantage point for dynamic band pics but by 'eck they were good. Hairy! Hairy!! Hairy f*ckin' goat!!! You probably had to be there. Aah, the famous Glasgow chant. Quote
Norris Posted Thursday at 08:55 Posted Thursday at 08:55 Sungazer at the Islington Assembly Rooms If you've never heard of them before (and I was one of those people) then check them out. They are awesome, playing proggy jazz-fusion. The bass playing was sublime. So glad my son got those tickets 1 Quote

They’re in Manchester tonight and I contemplated going but I think it’s just Adam Neely and the drummer, and, well, I didn’t. Quote

So glad my son got those tickets What was properly jaw-dropping was £8.35 for a pint of 3.8% Metro session IPA (despite a false start soundwise, they sorted it out pretty quickly and yeah it sounded pretty good. Much better than last time at Heaven, not as good as the Jazz Cafe) 1 Quote
bassbiscuits Posted Thursday at 23:42 Posted Thursday at 23:42 The Darkness on Thursday night at Leicester De Montfort Hall. Absolutely epic. Just pure entertainment and loud rock all rolled into one. Awesome. 1 Quote

Peloquin Posted Friday at 05:23 Posted Friday at 05:23 Went to see Millie Manders and the Shutup last night at Bootleg Social in Blackpool. Great gig. Quote
jazzyvee Posted Friday at 06:16 Posted Friday at 06:16 Allison Rayner Quintet at the Albany Jazz club in Coventry. They were just brilliant. Superb musicians and jazz rich in harmony and multiple time signatures but still grooving along. `Steve Lodder on keyboards was astonishing! Next gig will be the Santana Tribute band called "Very Santana". 1 Quote

Dood Posted Friday at 13:20 Posted Friday at 13:20 I'm going to pre-empt this one and, as sad as I am that I can not in anyway be there to see the two-nighter shows, I am catching up with Devin Townsend's Moth show which is streaming this evening https://onair.events/devin-townsend-the-moth two of my friends are in his touring band and if nothing else I'll be cheering them on BIG STYLE! - Devvy is a legend and has funded the entire project out of his own pocket. " Devin Townsend 'The Moth' - Live Concert Stream Visionary musician Devin Townsend unveils his rock opera The Moth. Streaming live from 28 March 2025. After a decade in the making, Townsend’s new composition, The Moth, tells the story of the human experience from birth to death. Together with the symphony orchestra Noord Nederlands Orkest, the narrative will be brought to life by an impressive seventy musicians, a sixty-member choir, and his own band (which includes Mike Keneally, Joseph Stephenson, Darby Todd, and James Leach). Best known for his groundbreaking metal, progressive rock, and ambient music, Devin Townsend has pushed the boundaries of genre across his 30-year career and established an unparalleled artistic legacy. The Moth will be staged exclusively in Groningen, and there have been no plans for global access - until now. The show will stream live on 28 March 2025 at 20:15 (CET). It will then be available on demand with unlimited replays through the On Air website, mobile, and TV apps. " Quote
Aidan63 Posted Saturday at 12:17 Posted Saturday at 12:17 (edited) Enjoyed Sungazer (Adam Neely and co.) last night at Future Yard venue in Birkenhead; great gig, plus interesting QandA session before the gig, nerding for the nerds, bass and otherwise Stood next to the FoH desk and the sound was epic, spent half the gig eyes closed bathed in 3D aural and physical music - didn't much like the venue stage lighting (really bright strips behind the stage facing forward, most bands they'd be either side/behind the drums so less visible bit this band have bass and drums either side and sax and guitar in the middle) but that was the only downside, other than price of beer, the on site food was good with vegan option and a really chilled relaxed attitude all round, had a chat with security guy, who really had an easy night. We had a chat with the promoter when we arrived, and got her business card - original music is her thing.......fyi Edited Saturday at 12:21 by Aidan63 Quote
Mickeyboro Posted yesterday at 07:31 Posted yesterday at 07:31 The Illegal Eagles in Ringwood. Stunningly professional, but it was hard to get engaged. I can see why the tickets were £40 each, but I think I’d have been as happy down at the local with a band with a personality. Quote
