Hawkwind on Friday, despite being a lifelong fan (the  first album I ever purchased was Chronicles of the Black Sword when I was 12) this will be my first time I've managed to catch them live due to a catalogue of various inadequacies

I had looked but they didn't seem to be anywhere that was that near me to go to. I have seen them probably more than any other group, but not since the 80s!

Pom Poko at Bristol Beacon on Thursday the 5th of May. They always put on a great show! Seem to be getting bigger and bigger venues too. Last time I saw them it was at Thekla.

I'm sure it will be great. I first saw them around Choose Your Masques (the gig on the Coded Languages live album), then many times up to the early 90s.  Black Sword was a highlight - I was at the Hammersmith gig on the live album too!

 

Seen them again several times since 2018 and they are right back on form.

Unexpectedly I’m off to see Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox at the end of the month. A chum’s Mrs can no longer go, so he’s offered me the ticket. Yay!  Should be a blast. I love their YouTube videos!

I wonder which one of us turned up on Friday to see Hawkwind at Bournemouth Pavilion a full 24 hours before they were due to actually play there?
