Martin Turner playing Backstage at The Green Hotel, Kinross on 9th December.

As on previous occasions, staying overnight at the venue.

The first of a trio of events on consecutive days.

Next day is my 66th birthday, finally getting my State Pension, and the day after that, my band's first gig for 645 days.

Sunday? I'll be up at the crack of mid-day. 😎

AWB tonight at the Tyneside Theatre. It was re scheduled twice, from 2019, first through a band illness and then through covid. Just glad we can finally see them before either I or they die.

Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons at the Patti Pavilion. Last gig of the tour and on home turf so hopefully something special.

Actually yet ANOTHER gig slips in before the PC&TBS one.

My brother is taking me to see Marillion for my birthday 🙂

Last time I saw them was Reading 1983, and before that the Script for a Jester's Tear tour: I still have both programmes!

A new indie band called Porridge Radio (OK I'm not sure about the name either 😃) - Jan 20th - rescheduled from pre-covid.

Not sure I can wait that long for next gig...might have to look for one before then.

I've just booked a trip down to London, to see my favourite band Mamas Gun.

Such amazing songs and an utterly brilliant bass player in the shape of Cameron Dawson.

The Darkness in Bournemouth tonight.
One of their songs came on the radio, "Ooh what ever happened to them? "
Next thing you know we'd googled them , found they were playing next week near us and we'd bought tickets.
I don't know much about them but it should be entertaining.

Saw them at the BIC supporting Def Leppard before they released a record.

Couldn't believe they were a serious band!

Very envious, I didn’t know they were touring at the moment, I’ll check this out

Missed posting pre-gig but AWB at Guildford G-Live were just brilliant.

Wonderfully tight and they appear to found the ghost of Luther Vandross. Their vocalist is just incredible.

AWB still great - their singer is ex Tower of Power vocalist Brent Carter who has been with the band for around 10 years now. They sounded fantastic at Buxton.

Just 3 shows left this year....

Kip Winger with his awesome acoustic show at The Black Heart in Camden this coming Saturday night...

then the fantastic Rush tribute 'Bravado' at The Tropic in Ruislip on Fri 10 Dec...

and possibly acid-jazz legends 'Corduroy' at The Holroyd in Guildford on 28 Dec!

For Those I Love last Wednesday (brilliant), pigs pigs pigs pigs pigs pigs pigs last Saturday (loud) and John Grant  this coming Wednesday. A good mix of styles.

Deacon Blue at the Eventim Apollo last night.

Top quality musicianship, especially from Dougie Vipond on drums (one of my all time favourite drummers). Lewis Gordon was on bass and double bass duties with what looked like a Sandberg PJ.

Great show with a good mix of old classics and newer stuff.

Ricky Ross still has an incredible voice and stage presence at 63, he didn’t take any short cuts to avoid the big notes. Sheer class.

I'm going to see "The Macc Lads" in Buckley  next Friday.

I've been going to see them since 1987. Great night. Laughs, funny songs, mates around me and it all washes off when you get back home.

Saxon supported by Diamond Head and Uriah Heep in January.

Originally was 2019 at Glasgow Barrowlands, cancelled when Biff was ill, moved to a new venue, then cancelled multiple times by covid... so 2 years and 2 months late!

Nice one, I’m similar, they’ve been a fave of mine since about that time too. Probably the most packed I’ve seen The Empress Stage at Rebellion was a few years back when they played, it was heaving in there.

Off to see Madness and Squeeze at Sheffield next weekend.

Saw Aussie Floyd last Wednesday and From The Jam with The Selecter a couple of weeks before, both in Notts. Thoroughly enjoyed both nights.

Wife just told me she's booked tickets for us to go see Blitzkid.  One of my favourite bands and really friendly blokes,  happy to hang out with you after the gig.

Thing is, the gig is in "The Knitting Factory" in Brooklyn NY, we live in Stoke, UK.
