nekomatic Posted September 7, 2024 Posted September 7, 2024 The Songs of Joni Mitchell at the Royal Northern on Sunday 22nd. Not many tix left, if anyone else fancies it! I’d go to this for either of Jesca Hoop or Josephine Oniyama, so to see both of them ought to be a treat. Oh and Olivia Chaney. Quote
nekomatic Posted September 7, 2024 Posted September 7, 2024 Oh and I’m tempted by the Fairground Attraction reunion that comes here the following weekend, but put off by the thought that it might just be a massive sing-along-fest. I don’t care if people yell their lungs out to Perfect, it was never one of my favourites anyway, but I’m not paying fifty quid to have Allelujah or The Moon Is Mine drowned out by the flipping punters. WalMan Posted September 13, 2024 Posted September 13, 2024 Hopefully Big Big Train at Thorndell Hall on Monday, but that rather depends on how recuperation from the operation last Tuesday comes along Quote
Norris Posted September 14, 2024 Posted September 14, 2024 Just got back from seeing Texas in Birmingham. Not a band I'd usually go to see, but went with a friend. Wow - what a show! Great sound, the band were fantastic and she can still wail. So nice to see someone with charisma fronting a band too. Favourite bit was when Charlene went right up to a woman that was waving several cardboard signs. She looked at them all, chatted with the woman a bit then said "I can't help thinking of the people behind you as you're waving those signs. I've seen them all now, so put the f***ing things down and let's party". All good natured but it got a good laugh. 1 1 Quote

I’ve had to accept the inevitable that it’s too soon after the op last Tuesday and I’m really not mobile enough (also wifey didn’t want to drive the first leg to a mate who was going to do the main drive) so I have passed them on to my partner in crime in The Volunteer Club project. I wonder how full the Roundhouse is going to be on Nov 9th? Quote
BillyBass Posted September 29, 2024 Posted September 29, 2024 My next gig will probably be Khruang Bin at the Hammersmith Odeon on Nov 20th. I bought these tickets back in March, I think; apparently, they will be available to view on the Eventim app a couple of days before the gig. This crusty old fart would much prefer to have a small piece of card with 'Khruang Bin Nov 20th Eventin Apollo' written on it. Quote

Baxlin Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 (edited) I volunteer Front of House at our local theatre, last Friday we had The Dung Beatles, a really excellent Beatles tribute band - not the usual run of the mill lookalikes but a band that is sound perfect - and who currently feature the 60 years of A Hard Days Night in their set. I’ll be on duty to see Ralph McTell performing here in November, and the ‘Searchers and Hollies Experience’ a couple of days later. Edited September 30, 2024 by Baxlin Quote
