GisserD
ive been thinking about how i could incorporate some of my analogue pedals better into my midi controlled (midimouse + Source audio hub) rig... is there a simple solution to turning on/off a loop containing an analogue pedal? with a midi controlled looper maybe? just a thought but if anybody produced a little loop box with a on off loop controlled by midi or the SA multi function input.... i would certainly buy a few of them. anybody got any ideas?
tonyquipment
Use a raspberry pi or something to turn the analogue pedals on and off ?
GisserD
please elaborate as i assume this would require wiring a raspberry pi into the pedals right? im not really into that idea so much... unless i misunderstand?
elephantgrey
What exactly is it you want to achieve by integrating your pedalboard more into your midi setup? If you want to bypass different pedals with program change messages, then maybe something like the voodoo labs hex. GisserD
ok so i did some research, and some other forum members helped me out. The VL hex would definatly work... but a tad expensive i beleive this would also work... cheap enough, but not readily available in the UK http://www.nuxefx.com/product_detail.php?id=78 with http://www.nuxefx.com/product_detail.php?id=79 but the clincher for me seeing as i already have the Source audio hub, is.... http://www.sourceaudio.net/blog/post/source-audio-namm-countdown-2015-the-neuro-loop-switcher its not available until Q1 next year, but when it is, ill have 4 please
I suppose so How else can one interfere with an analog pedal? Without actually touching it, you're gunna have to get the soldering kit out Cos the analog pedal ain't that clever, wasn't designed to be used that way
GisserD
you would need to use the raspberry pi to control a relay, that then switches a loop on running signal through the pedal.
dincz
SOmething like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NUX-PML-2-Looper-Line-Selector-Switch-A-B-Signal-MIDI-Remote-True-Bypass-/301296289904

elephantgrey
the G2 seams to be the only one that gives you control over the signal chain via midi, which is nice. Wish they would do a cheaper/smaller version with just the in/out(+send/returns) and midi sockets though. As far as controlling analogue effect parameters goes, you either need something like this (probably with an expressionator to turn CV to expression), or go for pedals like chase bliss or empress which have analogue signal chains but work with midi. Heres a video of the chase bliss pedals, just because im GASing for a warped vinyl: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSKWJA_SlCg
AttitudeCastle
I'm likely missunderstanding, but it sounds like any fully midi controllable/programmable by-pass looper should work for you?
0175westwood29
http://www.musicomlab.com/efxlite.htm this thing is pretty small and seem to send and receive midi signals doesnt seem to be a uk dealer but around 300 euros isnt to bad. LiamPodmore
Gigrig G2, Voodoo Labs GCX, Rocktron Patchmate. There's various options out there. For keeping everything on a board though the GigRig is a pretty common one, which can also be rackmounted too if that's easier. Liam
GisserD
Thanks for all the input. The key point here is I want a product that I can Incorporate into my current setup. I don't want to rebuild my rig around a large and expensive switcher. Source audio are bring out a product next March that does exactly what I'm after. I'll just have to wait for it.
