Jenny_Innie Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 (edited) I mentioned before that the control knobs on my RH750 kept falling off. Now two of them have snapped. I contacted TC Electronic through their online portal and despite the amp being 6 months out of warranty, I got the following amazingly good reply:
Thank you for contacting TC Electronic Support and for using TC Electronic.

I am sorry to hear about the issue you are experiencing with your RH750. This issue is normal. We have had some problems with the first knob generation. Since summer 2014, we changed previous knob for a completely new designed knob. The plastic material is better and the fastening system improved. It is more reliable. Of course, all amplifiers released from this date do not have this knob issues anymore while the previous copies as yours get this issue because they did not receive the newest knob model.

I attached a picture with my Email in order to compare the old knob (down) and the new one (up). You can appreciate the difference between both knobs.

If you give me your address, I would be glad to send you a complete set of new knobs.

In the meantime, I wish you a good day.
It's great to see a manufacturer take responsibility for a problem and agree to rectify the problem without a fuss. Muppet Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 They'll also send you new buttons for free if you ask, as the old ones had a tendency to crack (the program, shift, mute buttons etc) Quote
cybertect Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 I wonder if that will work with Marshall as well. I had constant problems with the knobs coming off my old 200W head. Quote
ras52 Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 So this guy sent you a picture of his knob... Quote
Musashimonkey Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 Had the same experience with my out of warranty rh750 too. Can't complain about any lack of support! Quote
mattbass6 Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 All my knobs fell off too and TC were just brilliant. Replaced them within 48 hours. A top company just a shame they are now owned by Behringer....... Quote

'cos in the past I've seen such posts described as crass or even sexist Quote
Stylon Pilson Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 Back on topic, I had a similar experience - had some cracked buttons on an RH450 (also out of warranty) and I also mentioned that the master volume knob had a tendency to slide off of its post. TC sent me a whole new set of buttons and control knobs. Good on them. S.P. Quote
TheGreek Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 ...and people wonder why there are so few female members here... Quote
colgraff Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 (edited) I can hear the ice cracking under Tom's feet.... The official definition of sexism is "The unwarranted drawing of attention to a person's gender or the objectification of a person by virtue of their gender." So, Ms Innie is technically being sexist by objectifying Uffe. The question of whether a third party can draw offence from such a statement is trickier as one of these two criteria need to be met: 1. Would a reasonable person who notices the remark be offended? 2. Does the remark encourage the objectification of the peer group's members? These are harder to answer as a consideration of perceived power imbalance is needed and I can't be bothered because Friday is chores day. Edited November 6, 2015 by colgraff Quote
TheGreek Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 I read Jennie's post as "he's a hot Bass player" - I don't think she implied anything sexist...looks like this thread's going downhill already.. Quote
Lw. Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 I wonder if they contacted all the buyers of the troubled amps & offered them replacements knobs? I would assume they had most people's addresses from the warranty cards most brands ask you to send back to them - seems odd to know there's an issue with a certain model but to sit on it & wait to see who kicks up a fuss. And to all the sexism BS, meh - pretty tedious really, I only saw one mildly sexist comment so reported it but it's hardly enough to derail the thread for, some people are too touchy. Quote
cheddatom Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 Sorry, didn't mean to imply I was offended, just wanted to offer some balance. It is excellent customer service from TC and I'm glad they managed to sort out the OP Quote
neepheid Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 So, yay for great customer service from a company then, which happens to have staff the OP finds attractive. Win - win? Quote
ped Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 I went to TC a couple of years ago and I found them all very attractive Quote
