KevB
Blackmore's barnet is astounding - he's 71....I reckon there's a few horses missing their manes somewhere....!
If you look at Rainbow photo's from the mid 70's then Blackmore's hair when DP reformed in 1984 it's clear there's been some serious intervention! Mind you Joe Lynn Turner wore a syrup through the whole of his Rainbow tenure and no one spotted a thing. Then - it's all going a bit 'shredded wheat' isn't it? spongebob
Wowzers! Not so much wash 'n' go, more wash 'n' it miraculously grew back a different texture!
jezzaboy
Re the Barnet. It was done in the early days of Rainbow. According to Colin Hart`s excellent book "A Hart life," they all clocked it and gave each other knowing glances but no one mentioned it. He would have sacked them had they most likely. Misdee
I went to see Rainbow at the first ever Monsters Of Rock at Donnington in 1980 (!). That was the era of Graham Bonnett as singer and Roger Glover on bass, although I would have to say that the Dio/Daisley lineup was Rainbow's finest hour. L.A. Connection is still one of my all time favourite play- along tracks at home.
tony_m
Mate of mine and his missus went to the Brum show, and reckoned it was very good. That said, they did opt for the £150 a ticket "VIP" option, which as well as front row centre seats included a pre-show meal plus unlimited free beer so it could just be the latter speaking...... 72deluxe
My ticket was nowhere near that! £60 for one opposite the stage, great for filming with a powerful zoom. Sadly my row featured people who wanted to get drinks and go to the toilet all through the gig so lots of standing up and sitting down again. Why not just take a hip flask and be done with it? bertbass
Wouldn't get a lot of wee in a hip flask I'd of thought.
