Shockwave Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 (edited) Hello all. Absolutely love Fleas tone on Hump De Bump. I know its flatwounds, and probably an early 60's jazz bass. I have been looking a number of pickups and I am still none the wiser at what I am looking for. Maybe something with Alnico 2's to mimic the late 50's early 60's sound? Thing is the sound seems very fat on Hump De Bump. Even though I know Flea probably has plenty of processing and compression, can someone point me in right direction to get just that little bit closer? Cheers! LayDownThaFunk Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 He used a '62 stack knob Jazz on that track with either GHS Precision flats or Labellas. The amp is anyone's guess. Quote
Lozz196 Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Given that the Fender Roadworns are meant to be good examples of 60s Jazzes maybe look at whatever comes in those? Quote
