Best place to buy strings

Where do you find to be the best place to buy strings, particularly 5 string sets?

I have looked at those sites but wondered if there was some secret cheap place!
The ebay site in the states looks interesting but I'm reluctant to get involved with Paypal.

Try saitenkatalog.de Very much cheaper for some (DR) and generally better prices and choice than UK. There is a delivery charge, but if you buy a couple of sets you cover that in savings.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
I decided to go with Tempo's idea, bit the bullet with paypal and got 4 sets of Fender 8250/5m strings for £51.70 delivered. Lets hope the tax man dont demand a huge slice on delivery!

I recently bought a set of Short scale Ken Smith (GHS) roundwounds for my Epi Rumblekat and they were cheap (US$16 a set) and the real deal.
To Australia they charged US$16. Just strings and Bass emporium were trying to charge US$35 for shipping. Quite ridiculous.

Wazz, you will prob get away with the duties etc. I have both times I've ordered four 6 string sets @ $80 (£40).

I've been using saitenkatalog in Germany. They're well priced and have a great selection.

I had a look at the site you use but they didn't have Fender strings.
I wasn't sure that they were the strings I wanted when I started the thread but they sound great so why change.

OK in an update for any Australian or Kiwi forum members I recieved the following email from [url="http://www.bassguitarstrings.us"]bassguitarstrings.us[/url] after ordering some strings from them:

US$26.94 is Aus$31.30

This is super cheap for a brand name set of strings here in Adelaide (or even Sydney for that matter).

I placed an order yesterday, and wish I'd seen this thread first, but Status Graphite's prices are still competitive. This time I've ordered some half-wounds for the fretless 4, and a couple of custom sets for my 5-string Hohner B2V. I'm converting that to High C again, 25-105, since the low B is weedy and didn't get much use by me anyway.

I've just ordered 2 sets of DR Hi-Beams from MyMusicStuff - at half the price I'd pay from Stringbusters.

The 2 sets of DR Hi-Beams I ordered from MyMusicStuff have just arrived - ordered on the 19th so took a week from the US.
A fantastic price ([b]HALF[/b] the price I'd pay from Stringbusters!) - & a week delivery time from the US (postage $10) is OK by me.
All-in-all a total 'no brainer'! It's like 'buy one get one free'!
The best place I've ever found for strings!
