If you have a desktop PC there is a bit of an overlooked gem in the form of the Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium SB0880 PCI-E - going rate on ebay is about £35. These will do a round trip latency down to about 6ms which beats out any USB interface which cant go lower than about 11-12 ms (the USB buss adds about 5-6 ms to the stated ASIO latency, a PCI interface adds no measurable additional latency).
