4 or 8 ohm markbass cab for Genz 12.2 ???

have to admit I'm a bit naïve on the ohm issue folks. about to buy a markbass 104hf "4" or "8" ohm cab to accompany my genz 12.2 shuttlemax but i'm unsure why I should go for a particular ohm spec ??. I'm aware of the many configurations the genz will allow but what's the logic ?.. is it a case of "if I add a cab later then they should really both be 4 o 8 ohm ?. should I be going for a particular spec for maximum wattage output?. thanks in advance

8 ohm. 8 & 8 make 4 when it comes to ohms.

Even if you're not planning on adding a cab, go for the 8 ohm as the difference in volume is so little it's hardly worth wearing your amp out for.

Most MB amps run at 300w into an 8 ohm cab and 500 watts into a 4 ohm cab so into a 4 ohm cab will sound fuller and slightly louder. However MB will not run with 2x 4ohm cabs as it will blow the amp. I have no knowledge of GB amps however and if that would be the case too!

the genz runs 2 separate power amps which will possibly confuse....

One 8 ohm load (either Amp A or Amp B driven)...375 watts
- One 4 ohm load (either Amp A or Amp B driven)...600 watts
- Two 8 ohm loads (Amp A and Amp B driven)...750 watts
- One 4 ohm load (Amp A) and one 8 ohm load (Amp ...975 watts
- Two 4 ohm loads (Amp A and Amp B driven)...1200 watts
