Owen Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Not for me, but a friend is looking to upgrade what he has and we feel the need to go on a roadtrip. You really do have to actually play and acoustic instrument to know if it is the one for you.

Cameronj279 Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 The guitarguitar in Glasgow has a huge selection of acoustics, some of them are bound be rather nice. I would assume all the guitarguitar stores have similar selections.
RhysP Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Knighton Guitars isn't too far from you (if I remember correctly). They've got a good range & they stock UK built Atkin acoustics, which HAVE to be tried if anyone is considering a high-end acoustic purchase. http://www.knightonmusiccentre.com
skidder652003 Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Mansons, Exeter have a pretty huge selection of silly price geetars

[/quote] GAK do have an OK selection, but not quite in the class (or cost) of the Acoustic Music Company - which I think explains the 'Uh oh!' response.

tedmanzie Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 don't know where you are but guitarguitar in Epson also have a great range of acoustics, so maybe all their branches do the same?

Owen Posted November 14, 2015 Author Posted November 14, 2015 Thanks everyone - it has given him plenty to think about
ben4343 Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 I might be slightly late to the party, but Sheehans in Leicester is awesome. Tons of stuff there. I've got a talented friend who went shopping there, and ended up with a wonderful Lowden. Service is great, and they are very happy for you to play your way through all their stock.

dlloyd Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Okay, I've logged a visit to that shop on my list of things to do when I win the lottery. I'm going to play Smoke on the Water on every guitar in the shop.
