danjer Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 (edited) [sharedmedia=core:attachments:195729] [sharedmedia=core:attachments:195728] '84 ish tokai hard puncher. black body, black pickguard, rosewood fretboard. Upgraded with a Schaller roller bridge many years ago - everything else is as it came from the factory. seems to be an '84 with the fender shape headstock but the 'new' logo. There are some cosmetic flaws but none of them affect the playing at all. There's a good amount of buckle rash on the back, one shallow ding in the back of the neck, fretboard perfect. There is a very small hairline crack at one of the screw fixings for the E tuner (shown in the gallery linked below) but it doesn't have any impact on the tuner at all I had this set up a couple of months ago, they did a minor fret dress but there's loads left. New roundwounds on. Ready to go! located south (of) London, will include the knackered case which i believe to be the same vintage. no trades please. danjer Posted November 15, 2015 Author Posted November 15, 2015 Sunday evening bump. This is a pb40 model, tone etc is as you would expect from these great basses. Neck is straight with plenty of room for adjustment in the truss rod, low action. Any questions, please ask.
garry warrington Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 how do they compare to maple fretboards
