truebassman
I've been self-teaching for a while and dipping into YouTube now and again but there is so much stuff out there (good and bad). Does anyone know/seen any good examples showing techniques or tracks to practice for beginners ? I know it sounds like I'm being to lazy to search - I am !! Any suggestions ? Punk/funk/rock anything really that you think would be useful rather than just some dude 'showing off' Muchas gracias.

And yes he is great and has helped me out a lot playing wise.
Just for our American friends, Belfast is in Northern Ireland which is part of the UK's constitutional monarchy. It is not in the Republic of Ireland, which is an independent nation. My Irish ancestry gets pedantic about this stuff so please excuse me. Dave Marks' walking bass stuff is fantastic and for me it explains the concept in way that is much easier to grasp than say, Ed Friedland or Gary Willis. Dave's site says there's a lot of new content on the way soon so keep an eye on it. Edited October 20, 2008 by Sean
