Rich Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 How many are there in your band? Or bands, if you're in more than one? You can make as many choices as you need. There are 13/14 of us in the Destroyers, and I also have a 5-piece side project. Quote
Merton Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 4 in my originals band, 5 in the function band Quote
phil_the_bassist Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 5 in the covers band, and about 16 in the band I'm working with for a charity thing. Quote
wateroftyne Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 5 in my main gig... 4 if Mrs. WoT can't make it. Quote
Jase Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 5 in the covers band and 2 in the original. Quote
cetera Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 4 in the KISS tribute 6 in the Function band 7 in the Madness tribute Quote
TheDarkReaver Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 I voted 5, but there are only 4 in my band. doh. Quote
TheRev Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 3 in me jazz/soul trio. I've almost always been in three piece bands - there's just something about the chemistry you get. Plus, it's easier to organise rehearsals. Quote
The Funk Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 We're big in Japa... aaaah, I get it. 5. Quote
coasterbass Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008
There's 5 in my trio.
Great to have you back on board mate! The last few bands I've been in have all been 6 piece affairs. It helps cover your screw-ups, and you stand a better chance in a fight. I picked up some nasty injuries whilst working as a trio. Quote
WalMan Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Between 4 & 6 depending on availability. Normally 5 Quote
WILD FROG SHOT Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Five at the moment, but will hopefully be adding a string quartet in the coming weeks, so 9 I guess... Quote

spike Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 9 piece soul band, 3 singers, tenor sax, alto sax, trumpet, guitar, bass, drums Quote
lateralus462 Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 We have 5 at the moment. I've only ever been in 3 pieces really before this one but I think I prefer it - although it's quite tricky at times with the Keys and bass occupying the same sort of frequency range - I think I might just chop his left hand off - that should solve the problem. Quote
whynot Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Usually a 9 piece but on rare occasions anything between 5 and 12 depending on client request. Brass can go up to a 4 piece plus extra singers, percussion, maybe even dancers. Quote
lowhand_mike Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 5, ye general rock band setup really, though we have discussed getting a keyboard player but so far its not happened. Quote
OldGit Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 (edited) Had I not just left, Wonderbrass may have won the "non orchestral" competition. About 75 members at any one time but "only" 30 or so on stage for gigs This pic shows almost everyone ... I'm there on Baritone sax, there's a few brass and saxes (including a bass sax) beyond the end of the picture ... Edited September 11, 2008 by OldGit Quote
Protium Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 4 - bass, guitar, vocals, drums. No need for anything else Quote
