Nice, that's how I got Kontakt last year. I'm now tempted by their VC-76 1176-clone compressor which is about the same price as Waves' on-offer CLA-76!

Tallies with my experience...if memory serves I tried to buy a Pitchblack+ from their eBay page. Paid my money and then heard nothing from them for about a week, so I raised it as an issue and they refunded my money without evening telling me what had gone awry.

Took a notion to set up a wee home studio so bought a 2011 mac mini on the cheap. Nowt wrong with it as standard for what I'm likely to be doing, but come black Friday I got 16gb ram, 240gb ssd and ezmix2... Already have ez drummer with drum kit from he'll from my last attempt at a home studio. Probably should have got the rock kit in the sale too...

Any recommendations for good horns or brass. What's the best available and also as a comparison what's the best value.

When you say 'horns or brass',
are you looking at Orchestral or Pop/Jazz/Funk etc?
There are various excellent libraries out there specialising in the above, and quite expensive.

Do you have Kontakt full version? If so, the Library that comes with it,
has a reasonable selection of the above (plus a lot more other Instruments - over 40 gigs worth).
Also there are a ton of great freebie patches on the net that will only work with the full version,
including horn/brass patches.
Kontakt 5 (full) is currently on sale at the moment (50%).

If it's ready made loops you are after, someone should be along shortly and point you
in the right direction. I have heard a few Brass loops in some of the monthly Comps,
more than likely free as well.

Argh! More temptation... I bought Kontakt 1/2 price in last year's sale, and have never looked back!

for both the full version and the free player version.
There is a ton of interesting stuff out there.
