lowdown
Aria Sounds. Some really nice sampled Instruments for Kontakt. The London Symphony Strings @ £99.00 is a real steel. Lovely, lush sounding sections, with plenty of articulations. http://www.ariasounds.com

Lee-Man
Sweet water always has some good deals on plugins/software. Have done it a few times and scored some good deals. Mornats
I bought the Rock EZX for EZDrummer for a bargain £12 from TimeSpace: http://www.timespace.com/product/EZXROCK-120/3/10000055/toontrack_ezx__rock%21_%28serial_download%29.html I'm tempted by Session Horns for £45 but I'm also considering one of the bundles with the S61 keyboard and Komplete (which includes Session Horns) so hmmm... will have to do some thinking! DBerriff
Mornat mentions Time+Space / Toontracks. They are also offering EZkeys Retro Electrics for £17.95 which is 84% off. The software is great for setting up chord sequences to play along with.
rubis
Be careful dealing with Gear4Music though , they sell off an awful lot of (very) damaged stock on ebay They seem to be a bit cackhanded with their stock

Paid my money and then heard nothing from them for about a week, so I raised it as an issue and they refunded my money without evening telling me what had gone awry. lowdown
JRR Shop. I use this place quite a lot for downloadable products. Always very cheap, and you usually get extra discount at checkout. Even without Black Friday, there are always good deals going on. I chat on line sometimes (VI Control) with the guy who runs it - Top bloke and very helpful. Mornats
EZMix2 for £17.95 too for those who like mixing presets: http://www.timespace.com/product/EZMIX2-120/3/10000057/toontrack_ezmix_2_%28serial_download%29.html Also, if you're thinking of getting Native Instruments' Maschine you get 7 sound expansions for free at Andertons (and you also get Komplete Select but that's a current thing and not a special deal): http://www.andertons.co.uk/dj-equipment/pid25744/cid727/native-instruments-maschine-mk2-in-black.asp (same applies to the Studio and Mikro versions. Mornats
Bargains from Plugin Alliance too: https://plugin-alliance.com/en/products.html Bitsonic's Tube Virtualiser is free today too: http://www.bitsonic.eu/tubevirtualiser.html (I've just grabbed this and tried it out - it's pretty nice. It can go from pretty much transparent to a really nice bit of analogue-sounding warmth. Nothing sounds overdone in there.) Also I hear Ann Summers are having a Black Friday sale but everything's gone up...

Bigwan
Took a notion to set up a wee home studio so bought a 2011 mac mini on the cheap. Nowt wrong with it as standard for what I'm likely to be doing, but come black Friday I got 16gb ram, 240gb ssd and ezmix2... Already have ez drummer with drum kit from he'll from my last attempt at a home studio. Probably should have got the rock kit in the sale too... the boy
Any recommendations for good horns or brass. What's the best available and also as a comparison what's the best value.
lowdown
When you say 'horns or brass', are you looking at Orchestral or Pop/Jazz/Funk etc? There are various excellent libraries out there specialising in the above, and quite expensive. Do you have Kontakt full version? If so, the Library that comes with it, has a reasonable selection of the above (plus a lot more other Instruments - over 40 gigs worth). Also there are a ton of great freebie patches on the net that will only work with the full version, including horn/brass patches. Kontakt 5 (full) is currently on sale at the moment (50%). https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/samplers/kontakt-5/ If it's ready made loops you are after, someone should be along shortly and point you in the right direction. I have heard a few Brass loops in some of the monthly Comps, more than likely free as well.

lowdown
Maybe it might be an idea to start a thread with links on free Kontakt patches, for both the full version and the free player version. There is a ton of interesting stuff out there.
