Hi,

I have finally decided to sell my beloved Jazz Bass to fund another project. It is difficult because this bass is a great instrument.

It has an original 1974 Fender neck with block pearl inlays and white binding, mounted on a Fender body (I don't know the date of the body - it is almost impossible to find)

The body has been professionally refinished with nitrocellulose lacquer and slightly relic'ed to match with the natural aging of the neck.

The electronics and pots are original Fender from 1971 according to the pots codes (304 71 16).

The neck plate serial is 644XXX, so from 1975, but it is a 4 bolts plate so it may not be the original one (Fender change to 3-bolt neck plates on Jazz Bass in 1974).

The pickups are from Hepcat, model Jazz Bass 1972. They sound awesome !

This bass is clearly a player, it is not a collector piece, but it is a joy to play, the neck is amazing (one of the best I had).

The bass is in Paris, France, I can ship it to all Europe with tracking and full insurance.

Here is my feedback :

Thanks for your messages !

@walshy : yes the color is gorgeous, and the relic job is very well done, very natural.

j@azzmanb : Interesting, so there were 75 Jazz Bass with 4 bolts neck ?

This neck and plate looks right - as said previously 4 bolts are about in 75 too.
The neck is clearly a correct 4 bolt neck.

Is there a stamp on the end of the neck?

Jebo1 : the pickups are from the french maker Hepcat, the 1972 reissue model : http://hepcatpickups.com/?product=jazz-bass-72

CH161 : the stamp on the end on the neck is not visible anymore, the only one visible is the "INSP 31" stamp.

Geek 99 : Thanks !

Is it just the serial number making you think it's a 75?

A picture with the guard off may be helpful - see where the thumb rest holes are.

It might be a 71 with the wrong neck plate? Odd to fit a set of 71 pots?

Also it would be nice to see a pic of the neck end - even if there is no visible stamp.
