Hi,

I am considering buying a Warwick Jack Bruce Artist bass. I have read some reviews of early Korean built versions that get major plaudits for the build quality and was ready to order based on that but I have since read that they are now made in China.

Any idea how the build quality compares between the Korean and Chinese made Warwick's?

I didn't know there were any Chinese made ones, are they not Rockbass ?

The Standard series was built in Korea for a couple of years (I have a Corvette 4) and then moved back to Germany, i assume they didn't sell very well due to this fact but can confirm the quality is top notch. My Korean Pro Series is as good as the German Corvette 5 I had a few years ago.

Thomann had a massive clearout of them last year when they got discontinued and some bargains were had. The Pro Series is not the 'Team Built' or something, is lower spec and more expensive.

There's a thread on well known usa bass forum with someone stating theirs has ' made in china' stamped on the headstock.

I contacted the seller I was looking at who stated theirs are German made!? Have they moved production back to Germany?

Korean pro series basses are very high quality indeed. I cannot discern any difference in quality between Korean and German made Warwick's.

I cannot comment on the Chinese made Rockbass line as I have had no experience with them.

Thanks guys. It's a discontinued model (I think) so I'm guessing its new old stock I'm looking at and most probably Korean built.
