As per title, anybody know of any short scale jazz basses? , since getting my squier jaguar short scale i have been bitten by the short scale bug, would love a short scale jazz but not even sure if such a thing is available in the uk

Fender Japan made/make one, a 62 Reissue style model number JB-62SS. Whether you will find one for sale in Europe i don;t know but importing from Japan is painless and usually works out a little cheaper even with duty etc.

Speak to Allthumbs on this forum. He has his own range of s/s basses in a Jazz configuration and the reasonable too.

Not tried the Fender Japan short scale, although I do own a medium scale Japanese Jazz (32"). The medium scale is a lot of fun, although I feel like the 30" might be a step too far for me.
Maruszczyk also do a very nice looking 30" scale Jazz, that said, they'll build anything you want in any scale:

The Fender Modern Player short scale jazz is a lovely bass (if you can find one) but has only 18 frets (might not be an issue for you). As ead pointed out there is my own SWB-1 Standard now available to pre-order which you'll find in the affiliates section with a 5% discount. This was originally my own personal project but so many people started asking if they could buy one that I decided to try and make it happen. :-)

The Richwood 3/4 basses are lovely, but a bit small and very hard to find. Then there are the SX offerings available via Rondo in America.

Also Shredneck I've noticed do a P-J bass here - http://www.shredneck.com/?page_id=1616

That's all I can think of at the mo'

Just picked up a SX SB301 bass off e-bay for the grand old sum of, errr, I'm kind of ashamed to say this, but I got it for less than £30 (thank god for BASE guitars!!)

OK, so it's got a couple of dings and scratches, but under £30!!!!

That looks smart - how does it play and is it heavy?

Be interested to know about this one too. Have an awful case of GAS for a shorty, but don't want to spend an awful lot since I haven't had one in my hands for 20 years (and it was a beat up 70's fender mustang an acquaintance wanted a ton for... Being a poor student I declined like a moron...).

New on here and first post to say I got this J & D for Christmas, first impressions are very good, yes end product not finished totally perfect the frets are a bit sharp but the sound is better than I expected for the money, have also got the ss Squier Jag at the same time and this feels a lot better in my hands but on first listening to both the sound is not to different, will be able to comment better in a couple of weeks after playing around a bit more with both.

Short or mid? I don't know of any true short scale (30 inches) scale, but SX, Fender Japan, and some others make 32 inch mid scale basses that have good reviews. About twenty years ago I played on a friend's Squier 32 inch scale P-bass that was really nice. We can't get the Fender Japan instruments here in the USA, but you might be able to get them in the UK.

I saw this band in 2015, massive bass sound and a short scale Burns Marquee I believe.
